Please use the same username you use in cyborg support on Signal. It is how people here recognise each other, and the two names drifting apart is a small confusion that lasts a long time. This also appears on everything you commit, so it is worth liking. Letters, digits, dot, underscore and hyphen.
The git server never sends mail — outgoing mail is switched off entirely. It is asked for because git itself records an address on every commit, and yours is kept private by default.
At least 12 characters. You are choosing it, so nobody has to send it to you — and nobody else ever sees it.
The code you were sent, in whatever form you have it. Upper or lower case, with or without the dashes — all of it works.
